Proudly Canadian
About PickEasy
PickEasy is Canadian, and so is everything on it. Every pick is a place or business located in Canada.
PickEasy helps you find what you want or need in a Canadian place, from dinner to a ski trip to an electrician, without wading through endless lists. Pick a place, pick a category, get a short list.
01Two ways in
A pick is backed by a recognised guide or list (MICHELIN, 50 Best, Canada's 100 Best, World Ski Awards and the like), or by two independent outlets that have written about it. One mention from one outlet is not enough. Some listings are local businesses we work with. We check that each one is a real business in Canada with a public address and a working website. Some restaurants are listed because they take part in the American Express Platinum Card dining credit; their pages carry an "Amex Platinum dining credit" stamp and link to American Express's terms.
02No scores
PickEasy has no score or rating of its own. Picks backed by guides or the press link to the lists and articles behind them, so you can see who says they are good. On each page, local businesses we work with come first, then the backed picks.
03What the summaries say
For backed picks, summaries only say what the sources say. For local businesses we work with, and restaurants listed for the Amex dining credit, they only say what the business states on its own site. We write them short, in our own words, and we don't add opinions nobody has backed up.
04Photos
Photos are freely licensed (public domain, CC0 or Creative Commons with credit) and the photographer and licence are shown next to every photo. Where we have no free photo, we show a plain placeholder instead.
05Keeping it current
Each place shows the date we last checked it. Places close and lists change, so check the source links before you go.
