High tide kayak tours around the Bay of Fundy's Hopewell Rocks formations
Why go to Hopewell Rocks sea kayaking
The Hopewell Rocks, at Hopewell Cape on New Brunswick's Bay of Fundy coast, are rock formations carved by tides that rise and fall by as much as 48 feet a day. At high tide, paddlers kayak around the same towering formations that visitors walk among on the ocean floor at low tide.
Baymount Outdoor Adventures runs the Kayak the Rocks tours in the provincial park, with high tide trips of 1.5 to 2 hours from late May to early September, plus mid tide and after dark outings. The tours are rated beginner to intermediate, with youth pricing for paddlers 12 and older, and park admission is valid for two consecutive days so visitors can return for low tide.
