Kangas Sauna

Kangas is a traditional Finnish sauna house on Oliver Road in Thunder Bay, a public sauna since 1967. Instead of a shared circuit, guests rent one of 16 private sauna rooms for 90 minutes, each with its own change room and shower, and the larger rooms add a bathroom.

Bookings are taken by phone, with saunas available from 8 am to 8 pm daily outside summer. The same building runs a diner, and Northern Ontario Travel suggests the sauna first, then Finnish pancakes with strawberries and real whipped cream.
