Reach Indoor Climbing
Aurora, ON
Top rope, lead and Sunday speed training, with therapeutic climbing led by an OT
Why go to Reach Indoor Climbing
Reach Indoor Climbing in Aurora was founded by Sarah Thorne, Tim Richards, Emily Vincent and Brandon Barraclough, and describes itself as a community-focused climbing and training facility. Barraclough, the head coach and routesetter, is a former World Cup athlete with more than 15 years in the climbing industry. Thorne is a registered occupational therapist, and the gym runs therapeutic climbing programs for adults and children in consultation with an OT, alongside adaptive climbing for every age and ability.
The gym offers top rope and lead climbing, with belay lessons for both, and runs group speed climbing sessions on most Sundays, split by Ontario Climbing Federation age categories. When Climbing Business Journal reported on the build in 2022, the plans also included bouldering, auto belays and a mezzanine with a 10 by 10 foot Kilter Board, a spray wall, hangboards and a traverse wall. A day pass is $27 plus tax, and a first visit begins with a safety orientation.
