Orchard

Orchard sits at the base of the SODO building on 10th Avenue SW in the Beltline, a garden-style room that Travel Alberta likens to a Mediterranean villa, with more than 100 plants and a crowd of chandeliers. The restaurant, from Syndicate Hospitality Group, aims for the feel of a European supper club, with soft furnishings and connected spaces around a busy bar, and serves brunch on weekends, lunch on weekdays and dinner nightly.

Executive chef Jenny Kang, formerly head chef at Shokunin Izakaya, reworks classic European dishes through Asian flavours. Signatures include Rougie duck breast with Israeli couscous and chirizu, a Japanese relish, and linguine vongole topped with bonito flakes and garlic chips, with gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options throughout. Orchard placed #18 on Canada's 100 Best New Restaurants in 2022.
