Café Lunette

Queen's Marque, Halifax

French café and bistro on Lower Water Street, with house viennoiserie.

Why go to Café Lunette

Café Lunette brings a Parisian café and bistro to Queen's Marque on the Halifax waterfront: coffee and pastries by day, a classic French supper by night, with a patio outside. The house calls it a taste of Paris in the heart of Halifax, and the day runs from breakfast and lunch to weekend brunch, an afternoon happy hour, dinner, and wine and dessert after a show.

Executive pastry chef Cori Osborne leads a viennoiserie program baked in house, and the kitchen keeps to classic French fare, with frites at its jazz evenings and half-price bottles from the wine list on Wednesdays. The Coast's readers named it Best New Restaurant in 2022, and a year later it placed #5 on Canada's 100 Best New Restaurants and #74 on the main Canada's 100 Best list.
