Archive Wine Bar
Little Portugal, Toronto
Wine bar and late-night kitchen on Dundas West, open since 2012.
Why go to Archive Wine Bar
Archive is a 28-seat wine bar on Dundas West run by brothers Josh and Joel Corea, Josh a former high school science teacher. Wine & Spirits magazine counted some 300 labels, more than 50 poured by the taste in three- and five-ounce glasses, with higher-end bottles opened by Coravin and a lean toward organic, biodynamic and low-intervention wines. The room has hosted winemaker tastings and late-night industry parties alike.
NOW Toronto called it a showcase for anti-snobbery, with a by-the-glass list that is mostly Old World plus Ontario pours. Taking a cue from Spanish tapas bars, the brothers serve cicchetti, Venetian-style bar snacks, until late, on the principle that wine without food is uncivilized. Canada's 50 Best Bars placed Archive 45th in 2024.
