Why go to BonTon & Company
BonTon & Company is a café and restaurant in Dawson City, on the Traditional Territory of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in First Nation, built around produce and meats from Yukon farms and producers. By day it is a cozy, rustic counter-service café pouring espresso from Yukon-roasted beans, with light local breakfasts, baked goods and a weekly lunch menu from chef Georgia Hammond that is always half vegetarian, plus a Saturday brunch with an all-local eggs Benedict or rosemary and juniper bacon and eggs.
Three nights a week the small room turns into a more intimate dining space with two seatings. Evening chef Ariel Adams writes an entirely new menu every week from the bounty of the Klondike and the wider subarctic, opening with house-made charcuterie and following with six small plates for sharing that borrow international flavours and techniques. Reservations are highly recommended, especially from June to September, when a semi-covered patio adds seats. BonTon was a finalist for Air Canada enRoute's Canada's Best New Restaurants in 2021, named for the best tapas north of 60.
