Why go to Château des Charmes

Fifth-generation French winegrower Paul Bosc founded Château des Charmes in 1978 in St. Davids. Destination Ontario says it was one of the first commercial vineyards in Canada to open to visitors and the first to experiment with European Vitis vinifera grapes. It is a founding member of Sustainable Winegrowing Ontario.

Its estate wines are grown on the St. David's Bench sub-appellation, and the winery calls itself Ontario's grand Sparkling House. The Signature Tour runs from the fermentation cellar to the underground barrel caves, ending with a tasting of five wines.
