Garlic's of London
London, ON
Richmond Street fixture since 1993 that puts garlic in everything, ice cream included
Why go to Garlic's of London
Garlic's of London opened on Richmond Street in 1993, founded by Kathy Burns to put garlic at the centre of traditional recipes. Edin Pehilj later took over and brought a farm-to-table approach, and today head chef Oliver Thomas runs the kitchen. The restaurant buys from Canadian farmers and makes most things from scratch, including bread every day and its pastas.
Destination Ontario points to the signature appetizer, a slow-roasted garlic bulb with Ontario garlic, herbed Ontario chèvre and Newfoundland sea salt. Other dishes it names include black garlic fettuccine, beer tenderloin with a black garlic demi-glace and house-churned garlic ice cream. The restaurant is part of the Grand Theatre VIP program.
