Why go to Shale Ridge Nordic Spa
Shale Ridge is a winery and cidery in Thedford, about three hours from downtown Toronto, that added a private Nordic spa at the end of 2025. The thermal circuit includes an infinity-edge thermal pool, a Nordic plunge, a eucalyptus steam room and a dry sauna, and Destination Ontario also lists salt rituals.
The spa is built around privacy: a stay package covers the whole home and the Nordic Spa for up to 10 guests, so the circuit is never shared with strangers. It stays open through the winter while the tasting room and farm restaurant close for the season.
