The Waring House

Picton, ON

Prince Edward County inn with a garden dining room, a pub and a cookery school

Why go to The Waring House

The Waring House outside Picton is a 19th-century inn, restaurant and cookery school set on 80 hectares of farmland, according to Destination Ontario. The main house is the original Waring family homestead, and guests can stay in a 19th-century farmhouse, a restored stone icehouse and two lodges.

Its dining room, Amelia's Garden, overlooks the gardens and serves what the inn calls fine regional cuisine, with afternoon tea daily by reservation, while The Barley Room Pub hosts live music five nights a week. The inn is Feast On certified. Chef David Correa leads cooking classes, and summer sessions start with a visit to the herb garden to pick ingredients.
