Maison de Soma
Mont-Tremblant, QC
Seasonal table on a Laurentian farm, with cocktails made from its own harvest.
Why go to Maison de Soma
Maison de Soma is a seasonal restaurant in the middle of a working farm near Mont-Tremblant, about 90 minutes from Montreal, run by partners Didier Lortie and Édith Foliot. On more than 240 hectares they keep an organic market garden, two greenhouses, an orchard, bees and poultry, and they forage the surrounding forest, so most of what reaches the table is grown or gathered on site. Diners look out over fields, Lac Maskinongé and the mountains.
The à la carte menu is made for sharing, with a tasting menu and a five- or seven-course farm table alongside. Recent dishes have included a dashi with a trout and shiitake tartlet, trout with kohlrabi, oyster mushroom noodles, and a sweet clover cream with potato. Cocktails use syrups, macerations and juices made in-house, next to natural wines and farm ciders. Cult MTL calls the cooking Asian-influenced, and enRoute ranked it third among Canada's Best New Restaurants in 2024.
