Speducci Mercatto

Speducci Mercatto is an Italian butcher shop, market and restaurant in the Castlefield Design District, and BlogTO says it is often busy on weekday afternoons. The front is a bright market and café, with cases of fresh cuts, shelves of wine and the house olive oil, while the dining room keeps things simple with wooden tables around a central bar and classic Hollywood posters on brick walls.

Streets of Toronto calls chef Gabriele Paganelli renowned for his salumi, from prosciutto to pancetta, and the menu builds on it with tuna carpaccio, a pizza with squacquerone and tuna, casarecce with 'nduja and mushrooms, and a pistachio-crusted lamb rack. Desserts include a citrus crème brûlée and a deconstructed cannoli. Gambero Rosso gave Speducci Mercatto one Forchetta in 2026.
