Why go to Viaggio
Viaggio comes from Jon Vettraino and Jason Romanoff, who reunited after the Commodore to open this contemporary Italian room on Dundas West, drawing on Vettraino's heritage and travels through Italy. Foodism described an intimate space of warm wood panelling and exposed brick suited to date nights, and the MICHELIN Guide, which lists it, adds a handsome dining room and a deck strung with garden lights.
The kitchen likes to stray from the standard script. MICHELIN praised tagliolini with charred octopus in smoked dashi butter and called the signature tiramisu, part soufflé and part pancake with espresso maple syrup and whipped mascarpone, possibly one of the best desserts in the city. The current menu runs from burrata with focaccia and steak tartare with bomba to cacio e pepe and nduja mafaldine, with a mostly Italian wine list, and Gambero Rosso gave it one Forchetta in its Top Italian Restaurants 2026.
