Henry of Pelham Estate Winery

Henry of Pelham is a family winery on the Short Hills Bench, the most easterly sub-appellation of the Niagara Escarpment. Nicholas Smith received the deed to this land in 1794, and his son Henry later built an inn, tavern and carriage house here. Paul Speck Sr. and Bobbi Speck bought parcels of the farm in 1982, planted Riesling and Chardonnay in 1984, and released the first vintage in 1988.

Today their sons run the estate, and Wine Country Ontario points to its Baco Noir and Cuvée Catharine sparkling wines. Visitors can taste four wines with popcorn as walk-ins, book a tour of the vineyard, family cemetery and underground barrel cellar, or eat at Short Hills Kitchen.
