The Hare Wine Co.

Proprietor John Hare built The Hare Wine Co. on Niagara Stone Road from reclaimed materials, including 115-year-old Detroit brick and 150-year-old local barn board, around an open courtyard modelled on European ones. The family story runs from Ireland to Scotland to Bulgaria, where the family still manages 80 hectares of vineyards.

The signature Haretage blends Bulgarian Cabernet Sauvignon with Niagara fruit, and Destination Ontario describes a range that runs from rich reds to Icewines. Guided tastings cost $20 per person, the kitchen serves wood-fired pizza and charcuterie, and guests sit at 22 harvest tables made from the barn board.
