Saint James

Saint James is a cafe at James Street North and Cannon Street in Hamilton. Destination Ontario says it has served food and coffee for more than a decade, and Time Out notes that the cozy room may look like a coffee shop when you walk in but is also a full eatery.

The menu runs from espresso drinks and loose-leaf teas to tartines with avocado, mushroom or smoked salmon and eggs, and breakfast plates with names like The Gatsby and The Golden Oldie, plus a featured short stack. Lunch adds a butter croissant BLT and a falafel salad, and the counter carries cookies, butter tarts and cinnamon roll scones. It is open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
