Le Tambour Tavern

Hamilton, ON

Parisian-style bistro on James Street North from chef Teo Paul, built around an open fire

Why go to Le Tambour Tavern

Le Tambour Tavern is a Parisian-inspired bistro on James Street North in downtown Hamilton. Chef Teo Paul, who also owns two restaurants in Toronto, opened it in 2023, according to Destination Ontario.

The menu sticks to classic bistro dishes, and the open-fire grill is the centre of the kitchen. Destination Ontario points to the roast chicken, whole grilled fish and steaks that come off that grill. The current dinner menu lists escargot, steak tartare and a seafood tower, and the section cooked over the fire includes a fire-roasted Cornish hen, bavette frites, a 28 ounce bone-in striploin and a 30 ounce cote de boeuf. Brunch is also served.
