Boulder Parc
Scarborough, Toronto
Bouldering with a 45 degree spray wall, a Tension Board 2 and a café
Why go to Boulder Parc
Boulder Parc opened in Scarborough in late January 2020, and Gripped reported at the time that it was the first climbing gym in Scarborough. It is owned by Michael But, Edwin Chang, Mike Chien, Mabel Law and Benson Li, and its walls were built by Impact Climbing in Milton, Ontario. The gym is bouldering only, with commercial and competition style problems across all grades, and first-time visitors get a 10-minute orientation before they climb.
For training there is a 45 degree spray wall, with climbs logged in the Retro Flash app, and an 8 by 12 foot Tension Board 2. Campus rungs, hangboards, weights, a lat pulldown machine and an air bike fill out the training area. Between climbs, the café serves espresso drinks, Vietnamese coffee, smoothies and Jamaican patties, and the lounge has desks, fibre internet, board games and a projector. New climbers can start with SPARK, a two-hour introductory class, and weekly guided yoga is open to all. An adult day pass is $29.
