Zen is a sushi restaurant on Woodbine Avenue in Markham, in a strip mall that shares its lot with an auto repair shop. Inside, the MICHELIN Guide describes a calm room of wood slats and soft lighting, with a chef's counter and a few tables. Destination Ontario notes its MICHELIN mention for a simple, refined menu.

According to MICHELIN inspectors, fish arrives from Japan several times a week, the rice is served warm with a fine vinegar seasoning, and toppings stay traditional with only a light touch of soy. They singled out scallops, Murasaki uni from Hokkaido and some of the best nori in the area.
