Best soup dumplings in Vancouver

Three places for soup dumplings in Vancouver, with the lists that name them and why. One has made Canada's 100 Best.

Xiao long bao are what two of these three are known for first. Din Tai Fung on Alberni Street is the downtown branch of the Taiwanese dumpling house, whose handmade-dumpling tradition goes back to Taipei in 1972, and its dumplings are still folded by hand. The 2026 Chinese Restaurant Awards placed it #18 in the Elite 30 and singled out the crab and kurobuta pork xiao long bao. Long's Noodle in Richmond has cooked comforting Shanghainese food at reasonable prices for 25 years; xiao long bao are its signature, with pan-fried pork buns and drunken chicken beside them, and it placed #21.

Mott 32 is the third, and the dumplings are one dish of more than 100. It topped the same Elite 30 for its modern Cantonese cooking, with the applewood roasted Peking duck at the centre, and the reviewer named its hot and sour Shanghainese soup dumplings among the dishes to order.
