Five Taiwanese restaurants in Vancouver, with the lists that name them and why.
Taiwanese cooking in Vancouver runs from dumpling houses to bento counters. Din Tai Fung on Alberni Street is a branch of the Taiwanese dumpling house, for xiao long bao and dan dan noodles, and it placed #18 in the Elite 30 at the 2026 Chinese Restaurant Awards. Kalvin's Szechuan Restaurant on Victoria Drive cooks Taiwanese and Szechuan dishes side by side, from three cup chicken to a braised pork hock that won a Signature Dish award the same year.
Richmond holds two of the five. Memory Corner serves Taiwanese comfort food, from braised pork rice to fish soup noodles, and Uno Beef Noodle in the Richport area keeps to one dish, Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Back in the city, A.Bento on West Broadway packs modern Taiwanese bento boxes, with fried rice and stir-fries; it and Uno Beef Noodle were Top 50 Honourees in 2025. The pork is braised until the skin is soft and the meat falls from the bone, in a rich, balanced sauce made for sharing. It shows a gentler side of a kitchen better known for bolder Szechuan and Taiwanese fare.
A menu built around the brand's best-known dishes and its handmade-dumpling heritage from 1972 Taipei, in a bright minimalist room with attentive service. A cocktail and zero-proof drink program extends the meal.
