Memory Corner
Richmond, BC
Taiwanese comfort food in Richmond, from braised pork rice to fish soup noodles.
Why go to Memory Corner
Memory Corner carries on a family story that began with a traditional lamb restaurant in Gangshan, Kaohsiung, where founder Yu-Liu Wu perfected a lamb recipe infused with Chinese herbal medicine. His grandson Raymond Wu now runs the Richmond restaurant, and the Richmond Sentinel reported that its custom decor aims to recreate the feel of 1980s Taiwan. Daily Hive described bright red lamps, a colourful wooden gate adorned with dragons and small dioramas, with a pot of warm tea set down as guests arrive.
Prices are modest and the menu runs long. Daily Hive recommended the house-special lamb soup, with generous slices of lamb, bok choy and mushrooms in a broth scented with anise and cinnamon. The Chinese Restaurant Awards, which named Memory Corner a Top 50 Honouree on its Elite 30 Canada list in 2025 and 2026, point to the lu rou fan of braised ground pork on rice, fish soup with noodles and salt and pepper chicken fried rice, and there is now a second location in Burquitlam.
