Why go to False Creek paddling

False Creek is the inlet in the centre of Vancouver, and Destination Vancouver calls its calm, protected water a beginner-friendly place to paddle, with little motorboat traffic. Paddlers usually launch from Granville Island, where Vancouver Water Adventures rents kayaks and paddleboards and teaches paddleboard lessons.

The suggested route heads east to the end of the creek at Science World and back, passing BC Place Stadium, Olympic Village and floating homes along the way. Daily Hive points experienced paddleboarders toward a tour of the creek, and Narcity has reported glowing paddleboard tours that start at Granville Island and head into False Creek.
