Meo
Chinatown, Vancouver
1970s themed cocktail and snack bar from the Bao Bei and Kissa Tanto team.
Why go to Meo
Meo is the cocktail and snack bar on the ground floor of the Chinatown building it shares with Kissa Tanto, from Tannis Ling and the team behind that restaurant and Bao Bei. Daily Hive reported that the room grew from a Greg Girard photograph of Hong Kong nightlife in the 1970s and 80s, and the result is a dimly lit, 70-seat space of romantic pink tones, dark wood panelling, plush fabrics, drapery and carpet, glowing around a vintage jukebox.
The menu moves in acts, from oysters with padrón pepper kosho and a foie gras French toast to scallop crudo, yukhoe tartare and a fideuà of Valencian noodles in lobster broth, with a beef bourguignon double smash burger for the hungry. It has been climbing on North America's 50 Best Bars, rising from 92nd to 64th in 2026, and stays open until 2 a.m. on weekends.
