Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery sits on an 80-acre property at the western edge of the Beamsville Bench, with views over Lake Ontario to the Toronto skyline. Its landmark is a Queen Anne revival Victorian manor built in 1885, and the retail shop and tasting bar are in a restored post and beam barn from the same year.
President Norm Beal opened the winery after a career in oil trading, and its first full vintage was 2000. Wine Country Ontario singles out its Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Bordeaux-style reds. Walk-ins are welcome for a three-wine flight, and The Kitchen House Restaurant serves meals on the estate.
