Cha Kee

Richmond, BC

Hong Kong cafe in President Plaza, known for scallion chicken and pork chops.

Why go to Cha Kee

Cha Kee is Eva Yeung's Hong Kong cafe stand in the President Plaza food court, opened in late 2022 after she and her husband moved their family back to Richmond from Hong Kong. The Richmond News reported lineups every day from the start, some forming before opening, with regulars saying the cooking tastes like home. The early stars were the classics of a Hong Kong breakfast: satay beef noodles in a rich broth and the scrambled egg sandwich, best with a cup of milk tea.

Recognition followed. The Chinese Restaurant Awards named Cha Kee a Top 50 Honouree on its Elite 30 Canada list in 2025 and again in 2026, recommending the scallion pork chop rice and scallion chicken steak rice, which makes them the plates to add once breakfast is covered.
