Giardino
Downtown, Vancouver
Umberto Menghi's Tuscan restaurant with a deep wine list.
Why go to Giardino
Giardino, holder of one Forchetta in Gambero Rosso's Top Italian Restaurants 2026, marked Umberto Menghi's return to the heart of Vancouver, a Tuscan-inspired restaurant on Hornby Street just steps from his beloved Il Giardino. The room is built to evoke the old granaries of Tuscany, with vaulted ceilings, wooden beams, Tuscan tiles and hand-painted art, while a Florentine-style courtyard and a seasonal garden patio full of flowers and greenery front the street.
Menghi, one of the first restaurateurs to bring authentic Italian dining to British Columbia, was named to the Order of the Star of Italy in 2020 for promoting Italian food and wine abroad. The menu runs from beef carpaccio, burrata and calamari fritturina to squid ink spaghetti with Atlantic lobster, linguine alle vongole, saffron tagliolini with rock prawns and a Tuscan-style half chicken with sage and rosemary, with dinner served Tuesday to Saturday.
