Osteria Elio Volpe
Cambie Village, Vancouver
Italian osteria on West 17th Avenue, open for dinner.
Why go to Osteria Elio Volpe
Osteria Elio Volpe opened in Cambie Village in 2024 from Banda Volpi, the group behind Osteria Savio Volpe, Caffè La Tana and Pepino's Spaghetti House, who pitched it to Daily Hive as Savio's carefree cousin. The 115-seat room fills a former mechanic's shop, with an open-air dining room and a focal bar with wraparound seating, designed by co-owner Craig Stanghetta's Ste Marie Studio.
The kitchen looks to Italy's south, its coasts and islands, applied to Pacific Northwest ingredients. Dinner might open with house-baked puccia, baccalà mantecato with potato chips or semolina Parker House rolls with pecorino butter, then move on to pizzas such as Manila clam with guanciale or pepperone with hot honey, and there is a brunch menu as well. It was a finalist for Air Canada enRoute's Canada's Best New Restaurants in 2024, and Gambero Rosso gave it one Forchetta in its Top Italian Restaurants 2026.
