Sanbo Chinese Restaurant

Sanbo Chinese Restaurant is a Cantonese dining room on No. 3 Road in central Richmond, and its sweet and sour pork with pineapple earned a Canada Signature Dish Award from the Chinese Restaurant Awards in 2026. The judges noted that a dish everyone knows is harder to get right than it looks, and praised Sanbo's version: pork fried crisp outside and tender within, tossed with fresh pineapple in a sauce with enough acidity to stay lively, enough sweetness to satisfy, and just enough coating to keep it from turning soggy. They called it a familiar Cantonese classic done the way it should be.
