Via Tevere Pizzeria
Commercial Drive, Vancouver
Neapolitan pizzeria by the Morra brothers; no reservations.
Why go to Via Tevere Pizzeria
Via Tevere takes its name from a street in the heart of Naples where the family's story began generations ago, and the Victoria Drive pizzeria bills itself as the East Van original. It is member number 399 of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, which certifies traditional Neapolitan pizza made in a wood-fired oven, and it keeps things simple: walk-ins only, first come, first served, with a daily happy hour.
The pizzas are the reason to come. Vancouver Magazine readers have called the margherita proof of the artistry in simplicity, and the list runs from a garlicky marinara to a Vesuvio with salame piccante and capicollo and a white salsiccia e rapini. Start with frittura napoletana, the Neapolitan street-food plate of arancini, potato crocchè and pasta frittatine. The pizzeria has been named Best Pizza by Vancouver Magazine and the Georgia Straight's Golden Plates, and Gambero Rosso gave it one Spicchio in its Top Italian Restaurants 2026.
