Fiorino

Fiorino, awarded one Forchetta in Gambero Rosso's Top Italian Restaurants 2026, began with bread. Florentine Giovanni (Gio) Mascagni moved to British Columbia in 2013, missed the Tuscan schiacciata of home, and went back to Florence for a six-month apprenticeship with a baker at the Mercato di Sant'Ambrogio before opening. The Chinatown room, named for the little Fiat delivery trucks that carry fresh bread through Florence's narrow streets, still serves house-baked schiacciata sandwiches at weekday lunch, then cicchetti and aperitivo in the afternoon, dinner nightly and weekend brunch, with a 32-ounce porterhouse for T-Bone Tuesday.
