Tai Er Suancai & Fish is the No. 3 Road outpost of a Guangdong-based chain with more than 600 restaurants across Asia, Canada and beyond, and it does one dish above all. SFGATE described the signature suancai fish: sliced snakehead fish boiled for about 30 seconds and served in a pork bone broth with pickled mustard greens fermented for 23 days, pickled radish and sweet potato noodles, finished in its mild or spicy versions with hot oil, dried chilies, Sichuan peppercorn and sesame. One bowl easily feeds two or three. The Chinese Restaurant Awards named the Richmond restaurant a Top 50 Honouree on its Elite 30 Canada list for 2025.
