Excellent Tofu

Excellent Tofu is a small, family-owned dessert tofu shop on Hazelbridge Way, five minutes from Aberdeen Station. The shop makes its soy pudding and soy milk fresh in store every day, and everything on the menu can be eaten in or taken home. Scout Magazine described it as a counter-service spot devoted to doufu fa, with bar seats that look onto the desserts being made.

The house signature is the silken soy pudding, served hot or cold with optional toppings, alongside honeydew, mango and strawberry versions and a savoury Shanghai-style bowl. Writing for Scout, Ken Tsui noted that the pudding is served in the Cantonese fashion, with ginger syrup and clear syrup in squeeze bottles so each diner sets the sweetness, and singled out the red bean and black sesame toppings. Beyond pudding, the menu runs to soy milk with boba, red beans or grass jelly, black sesame tangyuan, herbal jelly, curry fish balls, pan-fried tofu with fish paste and sticky rice rolls.
